Rejection 4 - Heartfelt Thanks

Here's my next rejected card. This was for a call for paper pieced cards with a fall colour scheme. I love this Daisies stamp, and just did some simple stamping and paper piecing with Studio Calico patterned paper.  The sentiment is from THIS stamp set.

So why do I think it was rejected?  Perhaps it is too simple. I love making simple cards... but perhaps this one lacked embellishment... something to lift it from the page a little. Or, maybe it's the text paper in the background... does it dominate the design too much?
I'm enjoying all this analysis. :) It's making me view my designs in an entirely new, objective way. Very refreshing. :)
Have a good day.

I actually think it looks perfect. I don't imagine they considered there was anything wrong with it...they must have thousands of entries. I think the paper pieced flowers really pop and the brown compliments the text background....I'd happily use your card as inspiration to make one of mine own. Keep trying, you'll get accepted. Hugs lin

Lucy, I think this card is fantastic! I love it! The text background is perfect. The simple yellow flowers are perfect. The stitching around the edge is perfect. And I love the sentiment.

Why did they reject it? Perhaps they had too many awesome cards to choose from? Perhaps they don't think yellow and kraft are autumn colours? There certainly isn't anything wrong with your card, it's beautiful!

Lovely card. You could add some shine to flower centers. Love all your art, I tune in regularly.

This is fabulous! Love the background and the flowers are awesome.
I've never been able to figure out why cards are rejected! I see 'reject' cards from my friends (and some of my own) that I love. You never can tell. Your work is fantastic!
