Another Embellish It Mini Card!!!

Seeing the half notecard left over from yesterday's mini card made me sad.  It was crying out to be used :)
So I made another card for Embellish Magazine's Blog Color Contest!  I love this colour combinaiton and I embellished it with grey beads and a tiny heart pearl.
Just Because...
Supplies: Stamps (dots, sentiment), Pearl and Notecard - Hero Arts; Die Cut - Provocraft; Ribbon - Creative Impressions; Versamark; Clear Embossing Powder; Silver thread and sewing machine; Grey beads.
Pink has taken over my craft table... and I love it.

Embellish It Mini Card!

This mini card is for the current colour challenge over at Embellish Magazine's blog. Check the challenge out HERE.  It's not just about colour - you need to add BLING... love it :)

upplies: Digital Images (dotty background), stamps (sentimentbutterfly) and notecard - Hero Arts; Button and Gems - Papermania; Nesties - Labels 8.
TIP: For this card I created my own background paper using a new Hero Arts digital image - Dot Lines.  I recoloured it, then copied and pasted it multiple times in Word.  I then printed it out on a similar coloured paper to create the tone on tone look.

Mini Cards!

I'm a big fan of mini cards.  In fact, I'm a big fan of anything mini... perhaps it's because I'm only 5 foot tall. But anyway, I've decided to do a mini card focus for the next few days.  And apart from being mini, they will all have something ELSE in common... you'll never guess. :)

Supplies: Image and Stamp - Hero Arts; Digital PP - Scrapartist (FREE here); Nesties - Labels Trio; White Inkssentials Pen; Sewing machine; Copic marker.
Tips: For a bit of a change, instead of sewing on this card, I used my sewing machine to punch holes.  AND - after colouring the butterfly with a Copic marker, I added white dots with a gel pen, inspired by my lovely friend Kathy .  Click here to visit her AMAZING blog.  She's an amazing colourer / cardmaker / person.

P.S. - Emily - this one's winging it's way to you as I type :)

I ♥ Aqua and Pink...

I just can't get enough of the 2 together... they just look so pretty!!! A while back I made a quilt (it's still unbacked due to my new "hobby" taking over my whole existence) and these were the main colours.  Making all these cards reminds me that I ought to finish it.
Anyway - this is the other "Thank You" card for my sister - and another extract from her dissertation!  Does this extract make it any easier to guess the subject ;)  Didn't think so.

Supplies: Stamp and Ink (on butterflies) - Hero Arts; PP - Zoe Pearn Digital (here); Punch -Martha Stewart; Nesties - Labels 1; Sewing Machine; thread.

Tips: I sponged the pool ink onto the sentiment using a Hero Arts Silky Sponge.  I punched the butterflies out of some paper scraps that had been stamped with the Hero Arts Antique Flower stamp.  I lined it up carefully so the pattern was mirrored.

Something for my sister...

My sister asked me to make her some very specific cards.  She is just finishing her dissertation and wanted to thank a few people who helped her put it all together.  And she wanted me to try to use an extract from her dissertation ON the card. So I did!  Can you guess what her dissertation is about??? No, me neither :)

Supplies: PP - Cosmo Cricket; Flower - Hero Arts; Button - Basic Grey; Distress Ink - Shabby Shutters; Nesties - Labels 8
I'm not usually a big fan of orange, but I do like this Cosmo Cricket "Early Bird" polka dot paper.
Oh, and still time to enter my little giveaway - I'm busy gathering some goodies...

And if you haven't seen my little 40,000 visitors giveaway, check the post below. :)

Feeling pink

Happy Monday everyone.
This weekend I set myself a challenge and decided to sort out my scraps and have a personal colour challenge.  I put all my bits into piles of similar colours, then worked out what went with what.
There are a few more "Personal Colour Challenge" cards to follow later this week.  It was a pretty productive afternoon... and all from scraps.  Yay.
I discovered that I have a LOT of pink scraps... I do love pink!!!

Speaking of pink - have you seen there's a pink colour challenge going on HERE in support of Breast Cancer Awareness.  Can't wait to make a card for that!!!

Circle Colour Challenge

It's not like me to post twice in one day, but I couldn't resist this circle colour challenge over at Embellish Magazine's blog.

Supplies: Stamps and Ink - Hero Arts (sentiment, background); Punch - Martha Stewart; Ribbon - Creative Impressions; Liquid Pearls; Nestabilities - Circles and Labels Trio; Inkssentials Gel pen; Distress Ink - Shabby Shutters; sewing machine.
These have to be my favourite colours... and although my husband always quotes the old phrase: 'Blue and Green should never be seen without a colour in between', I just LOVE them together.  ESPECIALLY with some white!
I got the idea to use Liquid Pearls on my butterfly from THIS card by the WONDERFUL Jennifer McGuire.  She is a daily source of inspiration and loveliness.
Happy Saturday.

Quickie Cards

I needed some cards, and I needed them fast.  So I made these two five-minute cards using my fave Cosmo Cricket Earth Love paper.

Been working on lots of top secret projects today! Can't wait to share.

Mon Ami

Just another simple card made using the fab Ah Paris! digikit .  Love the sentiments included in the set.

Supplies: Images, notecard, button - Hero Arts; PP - Papermania.
I also created this collage photo the other day and thought I'd share - this has to be my favourite digikit, and I've made a lot of cards with it.  I do so love that row of birds, and love that you can enlarge it and use just the one bird on your card :)

It's nearly Friday! YAY.

Happy Anniversary

Short post... just sliced my thumb with my craft knife and can't type well.  Moral of the story - take care when using new blades.
I still have a card though...  proof of my dedication...

Supplies: Image, sentiment, notecard - Hero Arts; Blue paper - Michelle Underwood free HERE
A super simple, flat card, using the lovely Vintage Lifestyle digikit from Hero Arts.  I printed it directly onto the blue paper, then used a white gel pen to highlight the dress and parasol.

Background yumminess

Jennifer McGuire's 2Peas 'Fall Stamp Camp' background stamping class had me swooning, so I had to get out my embossing tools and have a go.

I LOVE what she did with the Antique Flower stamp (see here and here) and can never resist my distress inks.  And I love the result.
Thanks for another awesome class Jennifer. x

Ah Paris!

This week I've been playing with Hero Arts' gorgeous new digital set 'Ah Paris!'.  So much to LOVE in this set.

I wanted the chocolate box to appear as if it was being offered to the recipient of the card so I pop dotted it to create the dimension...  Look at the gorgeous fleur de lis background.  I recoloured the image in Photoshop, lined it up in Word and printed onto a Hero Arts pool notecard.  The sentiment is also from the digikit.

Then I combined the chocolate box with my fave Antique Flower Background stamp and used a sentiment stamp from the HA Thank You Sayings set.

Supplies: Images, Stamps, Pool Ink, Notecards - Hero Arts; Ribbon - Creative Impressions; Spellbinders Nestabilities - Labels 1; sewing machine.
Hope everyone's Monday was OK!

Flowers and Penguins...

Happy Sunday everyone!
Today I made a card using this gorgeous Hero Arts digital flower image - this tulip set is so versatile!  I also thought it was time to bring back Mr Ladybird.  He's been absent for FAR too long.  I've missed him.  I made this card using the Labels 8 Nestabilities and my own text paper. (See here for details)
