Simon Says Stamp Spring 2014 Release Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Simon Says Stamp Spring 2014 Release Blog Hop.
If you have arrived from the incredible May Flaum's blog, then welcome. If not, I suggest you head to the Simon Says Stamp blog and start at the beginning. There's going to be a LOT of inspiration AND a TON of prizes.
So… today's the day SSS release their new products. And it's another FAB release. I've come to expect great things from them and have never been disappointed! I just love everything they make. :)
So, on to my card. I used a number of new products on this one. First I used the new Large Dots Stencil. I taped it to some Khaki Cardstock then misted it with White Mister Huey's. After adhering the panel to a card made from Sea Glass Cardstock, I stitched vellum over the top for a softer effect.
Next, I created my shaker balloon. I used one of the AMAZING Ballon dies and cut a balloon from both Sea Glass Cardstock and vellum. Then I cut a load of tiny stars from white card using the Star Border die. After stamping and heat embossing the birthday sentiment from the new Birthday Balloons stamp set, I stitched the balloons together, leaving an opening, then filled with the stars and some chunky white glitter. Finally, I die cut the Daughter (from the new Sisters, Daughter, Niece die set) from glitter card stock and adhered to the balloon. Some silver thread finished it all off.

This is one of those "better in  real life" cards. You can't see the glitter so well in the photos but it's a lovely soft effect under the vellum.

This is just lovely, Lucy! I love the glitter and tiny stars inside the balloon. I really need to work with vellum more, adhering it is what holds me back, but stitching it is perfect!
