For my card today, I have a(nother) shaker card. Yes, I am addicted. :)

This card features the new Sweetheart Tag die, patterned paper from Amy Tangerine's Stitched pad and a sentiment from Simon's Perfect Love set. As a few people have expressed interest in knowing how to make this type of card, I have included some instructions below beneath all the other information. I hope they make sense. :)

I think shaker cards are perfect for weddings. :) Lots of sparkle and shine. :)

Get ready for something special.

---------------INSTRUCTIONS------------

1. Trim a strip of silver glitter paper and adhere to the edge of a folded card.
2. Trim heart patterned paper to 5 1/2 x 3 3/4" and adhere to the card.
3. Die cut the tag from polka dot paper. Remove the insert and set aside for later. Stitch one edge of the die cut panel.
4. Line up the die cut panel over the card to use as a guide for stamping the sentiment. This will ensure you get it in the right place.
5. Adhere acetate to the back of the die cut panel. Add foam adhesive.
6. Fill the window with sequins, confetti and die cut hearts.
7. Adhere the card to the die cut panel.
8. Die cut the tag again from white card and remove the insert.
9. Adhere the insert into the tag, on top of the acetate.
10. Adhere the polka dot tag insert on top of the white insert using foam adhesive.

Jingle all the Way

Hello!

Today I have a card for you that features a sweet Doodlebug sticker. Isn't this little reindeer cute? I added a big red gemstone for a shiny nose, a sentiment from THIS Hero Arts set, and patterned papers from THIS pad and THIS pad.

Just a tiny bit of stitching here - adds a homemade touch. :)

Sparkle and Shine

Hello, and welcome to my stop on the Simon Says Stamp Winter Twinkle Blog Hop. If you have not hopped from the start, head to the Simon blog HERE. :)

Today we are hopping along to celebrate the December Card Kit. It's such a fun kit, with an embossing theme. So, I've got a simple shaker card to share that features some embossing on the gorgeous silver card that comes in the kit.

I admit, I was a little skeptical about embossing on this surface (I am NOT an embossing expert…) thinking the ink might slip and slide on this shiny card… but how wrong I was. It stuck beautifully, and left a super crisp impression. 

As I mentioned, I do not consider myself to be an embossing expert… in fact, I am pretty lazy when it comes to embossing.
I remember the wonder of embossing for the first time… it was like magic. My sister (who lives in Canada) bought me a heat gun and together we tried it out. We were both pretty excited by the results, and she isn't even into paper crafting. :)
Today, I tend to use embossing most when working with watercolours - it's a great way to keep the paint in place and create lovely pools of paint (see this card HERE with a photo tutorial, THIS card which also has a tutorial, or this card HERE). I love that this kit gave me a kick up the butt to get my heat gun out to emboss a sentiment. I love the look and will certainly be trying it out again soon. :)

Hello.

Today I have a card for you created with Simon Says Stamp's gorgeous Holiday Ornaments die set. I cut two ornaments from rustic card and two from glitter card. I stitched the glittery ones together and stamped the sentiment on one of the rustic white ones.
More of that amazing Stitched frame die… I'm addicted.

 

The beautiful background paper is from Bo Bunny's Candy Cane Lane pad.

Pink, gold and white is lovely for Christmas don't you think? 

Oh and see that pear in the top photo… I let my almost 3 year old choose an ornament from a shop the other day (and there were literally thousands to choose from) and she chose that. I'm so proud of her - she clearly has good taste. It's covered in tiny sequins and is really sparkly. (Wishing I'd bought more now!!)

Hope you are well. I'm busy Christmas shopping and planning. Love it. And our new kitchen will be finished today!! So happy about that. It looks so good. :)

Joyful Tidings

Today I have a card over on the Hero Arts blog. It features the beautiful Peace Poinsettia stamp set. I painted the poinsettia with my new Peerless watercolours - I have been itching to try these out for ages, and they are truly delicious. I got the small set so I could test them, but they are fab. I recommend them.

After the paint was dry, I added a coating of Wink Of Stella too - there's a lovely subtle shimmer. And some gold thread and gold shimmer mist add a bit more. :)
