Rainbow Week

Hello and welcome to rainbow week on my blog.
I'm so happy at the moment, and what better way to express it than with rainbows.  So, this week I'll share some rainbow cards and am hoping that some of you might play along.  There might even be a rainbow prize in it for a lucky winner.
Today's card is made using one of my new favourite stamps, the cute pencil from Hero Arts Brilliant set.  This was so easy (and fun) to make.  Some stamping on white and my favourite Doodlebug papers, cutting out in front of the TV (always a pleasure), and a bit of paper piecing. Yum.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts My Type set.

So... let me see what you can make with a rainbow theme.
Upload your creations sometime before next Monday morning and I'll choose a winner.
Have a fun day - I plan on making 16 cards and painting the front of the house!

Birthday Browns!

Hello.  Just sharing a birthday card I made yesterday.  Lots of yummy patterned paper, and more of those delicious Studio Calico butterflies.  I've always admired card makers who use seam binding... and luckily, The Ribbon Girl has loads in stock.  It makes for a lovely vintage-y finish.

I have a sketch book full of card designs I want to make today, so I'm off to create.
Hope you have a great day, whatever you're doing.
It's nearly the weekend!!! Yay. :)

Make a Wish..

Hello and happy Wednesday.
I'm here today sharing one of the cards I have published in Paper Crafts latest special issue: Card Ideas for Paper Crafters.  This magazine is sketch based; I have a number of my own sketches in the magazine as well as cards, and it was so exciting seeing so many top designers interpreting my sketches.  I feel so lucky!
Anyway, here's one of the cards they chose to publish:

This card features a digital feather stamp from Hero Arts' Bird Silhouettes digikit, and a sentiment from their Make a Wish kit.  Very simple.
I've had a lovely day designing new cards... can't wait to share them...

Sympathy Card

Hey - hope you had a good weekend.  I'm getting much more active, and spent the weekend cleaning, gardening, baking muffins, bread, cookies... felt like a good wife for the first time ever ;)  I even moved all the furniture around in my bedroom just for a change.  Funny what pregnancy does to you.
Anyway, here's another card I created over the weekend with some not-yet-released stamps.  FUN!
With Sympathy
The silhouette flower in this card is from the 'Butterflies and Wildflowers' set from the new Indie Bloom Collection by Hero Arts and Basic Grey.  They are due for release 25th August.  The sentiment is from THIS beautiful set; sympathy cards are hard to make, but this set makes it a bit easier.  The gorgeous paper is from Lily Bee's Picket Fence 6 x 6 pad.  YUM.  Oh, and those fabulous wooden butterflies by Studio Calico seem to have been discontinued.  :(
Oh, and I just opened an Etsy shop selling some of my cards.  I imagine this can't be of much interest to you readers, as most of you MAKE cards, but one reader once emailed me and asked me if I sold them so thought I'd give it a whirl.  The link is on my sidebar - or click HERE.
Have a great day.

Merci

I am SO happy.  Yesterday and today I made cards!!!  OK, I'm a bit rusty, and it's HARD getting my stitching to go straight... and as for my stamping... oh dear.
But, I created!!! And I feel so GOOD for it.  Must make the most of it, before my BIG bump makes it impossible to climb the loft ladder into my studio :)
So, I decided to play with Hero Arts and Basic Grey's new Out of Print 'Carte Postale' stamp set.  I ADORE it.  One of my favourite things about it, the postage stamps do not have dollar or cent marks, making it suitable for all countries. :)  Yay!

The beautiful blue background paper is from the MLS Heartfelt range - Ella.  I love the soft doily look.  The scallops were cut from THIS 12 x 12 sheet from Bo Bunny's Vicki B line.  I finished the card with a Bo Bunny sticker and yummy vintage seam binding and twine from The Ribbon Girl.
I created a Twopeas Wish List with all the available products I used to make this card - click HERE to see them all together - not sure if this is of any use to anyone??
Have a happy weekend, see you again soon.

Some Cards!

Hello patient readers - I'm here today with some cards for you.  Things are good - my baby is kicking and kicking (and kicking!), I am feeling healthy and VERY happy, and have just returned home after 3 weeks off and about, including an anniversary trip to Bruges!  So it's about time I blogged, and shared some things.
Nothing brand new yet, just some of the cards I have published in June and July's CARDS magazine.
First, this CAS one layer card.  I did some dry embossing and masking to create the frame effect.  I think THIS Hero Arts butterfly is my favourite.

I love THIS set of owls.  Here I added Glossy Accents to create the tear drops.

And finally, I think I shared this once before... but hey ho.

I am determined to spend the next 3 weeks of my holiday creating... something at least.  I plan to make some bunting for my baby's room, and finish a quilt I started months ago, and who knows... maybe some STAMPING too. :)  I promise I will share whatever I make.
Until then, have a great day. xx
