Celebration Cat!

Hello, and happy Monday! I hope you had a good weekend.
Today I have a card for you created with some Simon Says Stamp products. I've been wanting to ink up this cute kitty for AGES, and finally found the time. Isn't he adorable? I used patterned papers from Pebbles Special Delivery Girl pad, and added sentiments from the Sparkle and Shine stamp set.

I feel like I haven't done any paper piecing for a long time… watercolouring has become my new favourite thing. But I couldn't resist making my kitty heart patterned. :)

Simon Says Stamp March Card Kit… and a winner

Hello!
Today should be the day I share my first card created with the Simon Says Stamp March Card Kit. However… mine appears to be stuck in the mail somewhere… boo.
So, I thought I'd do another request post. Now the kit is live and viewable, you can leave a comment here with any requests you may have for me. i.e. a product in the kit you'd like me to use; a technique you'd like me to try; anything really. Then, if (WHEN) my kit does arrive, I'll have a focus in mind!
So here's the beautiful kit. All Spring-y and pretty. Love it.

Sweet New Baby

Hi.
Today I have a baby girl card to share that features some sweet Simon Says Stamp products, old and new.
To make this card, first I die cut the Small Heart Doily from some cute Pebbles Special Delivery patterned paper. I added a sentiment created by mixing a stamp from Simon's Handwritten Greetings set, with one from Clearly Besotted's Sentimental Type set. I love mixing and matching my sets like this to create custom messages.
Next, I die cut the Super Heart border from another sheet of patterned paper then laid it over some of the polka paper before flicking with Calico Shine Mister Huey's.

As I was adhering the heart to the card, I couldn't resist adding a vellum die cut Calliope Flourish. Love this die so much… And a little button completed the card.Sweet New Baby 1 by Lucy Abrams 
I do love die cutting, and I must add that my new Big Shot is AMAZING. I asked my Instagram followers for advice on whether to buy a Big Shot or a new Cuttlebug and the vote was petty much unanimously in favour of the Big Shot. I miss the convenience and portability of my Bug, but the Big Shot is fantastic. My favourite thing: it is slightly wider than 6 x 6 meaning I no longer have to trim down my 6 x 6 papers before running them through the machine. :) It's the little things, right. :)

Clustered Chrysanthemums

Hi!
Today I have a card over on the Hero Arts blog which fits in with their current nature challenge. If you've not seen their challenges before, I highly recommend them. Submitting to Hero Arts challenges led me to create this blog way back in 2009 - it was the kindness of the Hero Arts staff and community that led me to pursue stamping and card making! I am very very very grateful to them!!
Anyway… as I was saying, I have created a card with some of their brand new products. The new Succulents set is gorgeous, but when I first saw it, I saw chrysanthemums. So I decided to create a cluster of chrysanthemums for a cheery Hello card. I used my new Gansai Tambi watercolours (anyone interested in a review / comparison of these??), added some vellum leaves (using THIS die), crochet thread and a sentiment from the new Fruit set.

The whole vellum panel is held to the card only by the stitching on the left. It's lovely and loose and can swing open too. I nearly added some adhesive behind the flowers, but when it came to it, I just really loved the looseness. :)

Better Together

Hi!
Today I have a little square card to share with you. It features some cute Simon Says Stamp products, and gorgeous Pink Paislee Bella Rouge papers.
To make this happy card, I first die cut a Stitched Square from white cardstock, then I stamped the adorable sentiment which is from the Locking Hearts stamp set. Next, I die cut ten stitched hearts from the Pink Paislee papers, using the small heart from the Surely Stitched Heart die set. I stuck the little hearts to the paper in a grid pattern, adding the extra heart to the bottom right to tie in with the sentiment.

Some delicious Moonshine sequins layered on top of each other add just a touch of sparkle.

This was oh-so-simple to create thanks to all the adorable stitched edge products Simon has been coming out with recently - they save me from getting out my sewing machine! And they are just so cute!!

You Make Me Happy and a giveaway!

Hello!
Just popping in today to share a current publication with you. I have a set of 6 cards published in Issue 133 of Simply Cards and Papercraft, along with an article on the Rule of Thirds. 
So I thought I'd share one of my cards with you. You can just about see it on the front cover at the bottom… along with a peek at a couple of the others. :) I used Mama Elephant's Pandamonium stamps, and some Cosmo Cricket stickers.
