Simple Sympathy Card

I think silhouette images work really well for sympathy cards - keep it simple and muted is usually my preferred method with these difficult cards.

This lovely lily stamp is from the new Say It (In Pictures) kit, and I combined with the sentiment from Say It (Again and Again).  Very simple.  The lovely patterned paper is from Carina Gardener's Victorian Art Collection. Mmmm.

Well... it;'s my last day at work tomorrow then my maternity leave begins. I am feeling very strange about it... will miss my kids. :(  But looking forward to not having to get up so early (for the next few weeks at least!)

Thinking of You...

Hello!

Today's card features images from two new Hero Arts digikits: Artsy You and Say It (Again and Again).  If you didn't pick up on my enthusiasm yesterday, can I just say again how much I love the new Say It kits.  Look how awesome:

  What more could you want from a sentiment set?
Anyway - here's the card...

I used a sweet label from the Artsy You set, and removed the central bits using photoshop.  (You could do this easily in Word too by covering it in a white text box.)  Then I added a new sentiment and printed onto some pretty digi paper by Echo Park.  I LOVE the gorgeous Designer Papers by Hero Arts, so I used a sheet of this to create a simple background to my card, and finished it off with some delicious silk ribbon from The Ribbon Girl.
Oh, and one more thing... I've been wanting some simple labels to add to the back of my cards when I give them to friends.  The Artsy You set it perfect for this purpose... I just used a label template in Word and added in the images. So cute and easy. :)

AMAZING new digikits.

I couldn't be happier about today's Hero Arts digikit releases.  I love sentiment stamps, and I LOVE mixing up the fonts.  So the minute I saw the new Say It (In Pieces) kit, I was SMITTEN.  Look....

SO many sentiments in one kit... so many possibilities.  You can just about create any message you'll ever need. :)  Yay!  And it has two companion sets too - Say It (In Pictures), full of adorable images, and Say It (Again and Again) - another AMAZING sentiment kit.

So today's card uses stamps from both the (In Pieces) and (In Pictures) kits.

I used the cute musical note stamp from the (In Pictures) kit to create the background... I think I'll be using this background again. I love it :)  The bird is also from that kit.  So cute and quirky.

Lilac and Green... mmmmmm

Hello!

It's time for a new challenge over at The Ribbon Girl Blog.  And this month the colours are Lilac and Green... making me miss summertime. :)

Here's my card:

I used some of their gorgeous May Arts striped Grosgrain ribbon, and layered some Lilac Seam Binding on top.  The flower is a delicious Hero Arts embellishment, and the sentiment is Papertrey Ink.  The gorgeous papers are both from Lily Bee's Picket Fence 6 x 6 pad. So cute.  Oh, and I used some Hero Arts Lilac Layering Paper to create the card base - I turned it inside out to make the inside pretty too... a Jennifer McGuire trick! :)
So, the challenge is to create a lilac and green card, enter it HERE and be in with a chance of winning lots of yummy ribbony goodness. AND a Lili of the Valley gift certificate.

Wonderful Day...

The sweet Many Birds stamp was one of my earliest Hero Stamps, so it's great to see that it's gone digi in the Many Birds Tree digikit.  I can remember making all my Christmas cards with this stamp a couple of years ago. :)

So I kept this really simple, just layering up lots of stamps in Word then printing onto white cardstock.  I used the clouds from THIS kit, and the Old Letter Writing digi stamp which I altered to white to create a different effect.  The sentiment is from THIS kit.

No One Like You...

Helloooo.  Happy Tuesday.

Here's a card I made with one of the new digikits Hero Arts release today.  It's called 'A Night for Fright' and it's a Halloween kit.  I don't celebrate Halloween - it's not that big over here in the UK, but I love that windy tree and wanted to play with it!

So, I added a cute bird from the Bird Silhouettes digikit, and a sentiment from the For the Archives kit.  The background paper is from Echo Park's Country Drive Digikit.  Finally, I added lots of yummy heart gems.
